final phase Installation of a Large Industrial Air Scrubber System
AEC Systems recently completed the final installation phase of a large-scale industrial air scrubber system designed for emission control in a new industrial processing plant.
Industrial air scrubbers are used to remove pollutants, odors, and harmful gases from process air streams before they are released into the atmosphere. These systems play an essential role in industrial air pollution control and environmental compliance.
During the first phase of the project, the air scrubber unit was installed. This week, the final installation phase started: the assembly and installation of the large-diameter piping system that transports process emissions from multiple extraction points to the air treatment installation.
For projects of this scale, careful coordination of safety procedures, logistics, and installation activities is critical.
Safety During Industrial Installation
Before installation activities began, the project team carried out a comprehensive toolbox meeting. During this meeting, the method statement and the HSE plan (Health, Safety and Environment) were reviewed in detail.
This was followed by a Last Minute Risk Analysis (LMRA) at the workplace to identify and mitigate any operational risks.
In industrial environments, safe installation practices are essential. At AEC Systems, safety is a core principle during the engineering and installation of industrial air pollution control systems, air scrubbers, and ventilation installations.
Large-Scale Industrial Piping and Installation
The logistics and installation activities highlight the scale of this emission control system.
Logistics
Five trailers delivered installation materials, including:
-
large PE piping sections with diameters up to 1400 mm
-
steel support structures
-
PVC and PP ducting components
Structural installation
Heavy support brackets were mounted on the existing steel structure approximately 3 meters above ground level. The industrial process fan was positioned on the concrete deck to form the core of the air transport system.
Precision piping installation
Large PE pipe segments (Ø1400 mm and Ø600 mm) were installed along the exterior of the production hall. Additional ducting sections were lifted by crane to the second floor in the decanter area, where emissions from the process installation are extracted.
Large-diameter ducting systems like these are commonly used in industrial ventilation and emission control installations where high air volumes must be transported efficiently.
Final Phase Before Commissioning
With the installation of the extraction points at the effluent tanks and the fixation of the fan inlet and outlet sections, the installation is now approaching the final stage.
This phase demonstrates how engineering design, logistics planning, and on-site installation come together to realize a reliable industrial air treatment system.
Once commissioned, the installation will provide long-term emission control and stable operation for the industrial plant.
AEC Systems is now preparing for the final commissioning and system start-up.
What does an industrial air scrubber do?
An industrial air scrubber removes pollutants, odors, and gases from process air streams using chemical or biological treatment before the air is released into the atmosphere.
Where are industrial air scrubbers used?
Industrial air scrubbers are commonly used in wastewater treatment plants, food processing facilities, waste treatment installations, and chemical processing plants.
