Client request
An international producer uses pig manure to produce organic soil fertilizer. They want to expand the production facility. Consequence of the expansion is a higher emission of ammonia and odour. What is the best technique to reduce theses emissions?
SOLUTION AEC SYSTEMS
After various meetings it was clear to the client that the multi-stage scrubbing system is the most effective solution for the expansion. In the scrubber the process air is being cleaned efficiently. In the first stage, sulphuric acid is added to the water. Together with the ammonia it forms ammonium sulphate, a high-grade fertilizer which is used to enrich the compost. In the second washing stage, the remaining smell components are washed out of the air by water and an additive.
The system contains:
- a double-walled storage tank for indoor installation with double-walled piping
- a multi-stage scrubber
- a chimney
- complete automation (Siemens) of all components
ADVANTAGES OF THE AEC MULTI STAGE SCRUBBER
The water packages of the multi stage scrubber have an extra large surface area and offer a low air resistance at the filter during the cleaning of the air flow. A unique pump technology enables a continuous irrigation of the unit so that it keeps the complete system clean. The pump unit also lowers energy costs.
